Will Dana White’s foray into the boxing world bring us a heavyweight crossover clash between Alex Pereira and Olexandre Usak?
Last month, White announced that he has finally entered the boxing business with Turki Aralshuk, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Bureau.
Although few details have been released, the news has led fight fans to wonder whether White’s boxing promotion will allow UFC athletes to surpass them and open up the possibilities of a bigger pay and exciting superfight.
One of the biggest fights that the promotion can potentially book is the showdown between indisputable heavyweight boxing world champion Oleksandr Usyk and former two-division UFC title holder Pereira.
Teisheira, Pereira’s coach and former UFC champion Glover, showed the possibility and suggested that if “Poatan” and Usaik could throw their hands into the squared circle, he could do heavyweight, or even light heavyweight.
“Maybe they’ve put Usyk and Alex down for the heavyweight champion,” Teixeira said when she appeared on a casual podcast with her coach. “I think Usyk can compete with light heavyweights… is he likes 230 (lb)?”

Unfortunately, White doesn’t seem interested in allowing UFC fighters to trade 4 ounces of gloves for 8 ounces.
“No, never,” White told ESPN in March. “I’m sure there’s someone who wants to put it in the box, but I literally don’t want to see it. I put my boxers in boxing and hold the MMA guys in MMA. That’s never going to happen.”
For now, it appears that White’s boxing organization is focusing on developing a new star. Of course, anything is possible in combat sports if the fans are big enough and the revenue is large enough.
