Liverpool clashed with the first Premier League defeat of the season against Crystal Palace, leaving their home.
The Premier League champions were defeated 2-1 thanks to a slow goal from Edinketia in the dying minutes of the game. Crystal Palace scored the opening goal of the game early through Ismaila Saar.
They have plenty of opportunities to increase their advantage in the first half of the game, but Alison Becker produced an incredible performance to keep his team in the game.
Liverpool improved in the second half, creating multiple opportunities to score, and ultimately found the back of the net through Federico Chiesa. They seem to have stolen the point at the end, but Crystal Palace scored from the corner in the final seconds of the game.

Jeremie Frimpong made a costly error
Liverpool manager Arne Slot denounced the players to defend towards the end of the game, pointing out an important mistake from Jeremie Frimpong. The Dutch international defender left him freely in the box as Neckea was preparing to fight back, while Crystal Palace strikers took advantage of the situation to find the back of the net.
Slot felt Liverpool didn’t have time to score another goal, and they should have focused on their defense.
Arne Slot points out Frimpong’s mistake
“We can blame ourselves just to protect our way,” Slot said. “One of our players was short because he wanted to counterattack. This was useless because time passed, so it was just defense,” reports Kagami.
Crystal Palace scored a last minute winner, but they deserved perfectly for all three points. They are a much better team and they should have won the game inclusively. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can improve and bounce back in the coming weeks.
