Arsenal needs a new striker this summer and everyone knows that, so did Jean-Philippe Mateta offer the perfect audition with Crystal Palace’s amazing goal in a draw at Emirates Stadium this week?

Mateta has an impressive record of 17 goals and three assists in total for Palace so far this season. This was probably his best bunch as he found David Raya from the line and punished him with a great long distance finish.
It may seem a bit stupid to be overly critical of a team preparing for the Champions League semi-finals next week, but it’s clear that Arsenal really doesn’t have a striker in their team that can score such a goal.

Meanwhile, Gyoker may be on fire in the Portuguese league, but his only previous experience in British football came with Coventry City in the Championship.
If Arsenal wants a proven Premier League centre, Mateta seems ideal, and perhaps he doesn’t take anything too crazy.
