While fans and teams will be fully eyeing in Game 2 of the Champions League semi-finals next week, the Arsenal Committee has already planned what could be a huge hit summer in the transfer business.
Last year, Mikel Arteta and Co shifted unnecessary players from many clubs with good money, but they didn’t really strengthen their first team to maintain their successful title challenge this season.
This year looks like it’s going to be a completely different story. Links to top-level attackers like ViktorGyoker, Ollie Watkins, Nico Williams come from all directions.
But while the front line certainly needs to be addressed, the midfield is just as important, and the club seems to agree. In a recent report, one of the most exciting midfielders in world football is advertised for a move to the Emirates, as they may be able to regain the best back from Martin Odegaard.
Arsenal midfield target
Before reaching the player in question it’s worth seeing a few other midfielders, such as Hugolerson, who are said to be of interest to Arsenal.
Transfer focus
Mega Money deals, controversial moves, famous flops. This is the home of transfer news and opinions across Football FanCust.
The Aintrak Frankfurt gem, reportedly available for around £51 million, is definitely an investment in the future, but respected analyst Ben Matinson describes him as a “transitional monster” and comparing him to the young Jude Bellingham, he may just be worthy.
However, a much more likely acquisition will undoubtedly be Martin Zubimendi.
Spanish internationals have long been advertised for their move to gunners. And based on more recent reports, it appears that the club itself will get their man.
But perhaps the most exciting link of them was in Frenkie de Jung.
A recent report from Spain shows that Arsenal is currently one of several Premier League sides with interest in the Dutch international.
Along with the gunners, the report revealed that Liverpool and Manchester City are also enthusiastic about players.
The price is not mentioned in the story, but it is said that Barcelona is being forced to consider selling him because he has not made any progress in his update.
It’s a very expensive and complicated transfer and it’s worth fighting for, given his immense ability, especially since he can help bring back Odegard back to life.
Why is De Jung the best for Odegard?
So, if Arsenal can go ahead of the chase pack and get their guys, why would he become Odegard’s ideal partner?
There are two important reasons for this. The first is his defensive qualities.
Dutchman is currently mostly eight and likely will likely be involved, but he has a lot of experience playing as six – he made 132 appearances there – and he was chipping into defensive work alongside Declan Rice.
The second reason is that, in addition to his defensive abilities, the former Ajax star is a very technical and talented midfielder, and former manager Xavi describes him as “one of the best players in the world.”
The underlying figures for a 27-year-old are nothing but spectacular, so it’s not difficult to see where Spanish legends come from.

For example, FBREF places him in the top 1% of the midfielders of Europe’s top five leagues. The Champions League and Europa League will score goals per shot, pass completion, goal creation action from take-on, the final third, top 2% of passes, top 3%, top 3%, and all 90s in the final third.
So imagine a very experienced international international who has acquired the Barca captain who can influence the game in almost every area of the pitch playing alongside the Northernest No. 8 in London. He will definitely improve too.
Ultimately, that will be a complicated and expensive move, but how much difference De Jong can make for Odegard’s career and Arsenal as a whole, Arteta and Co have to do what they can to get it done.
