Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are interested in signing River Plate’s Argentinian prospect Ian Zviabre.
According to TBR Football, Arsenal and Chelsea are already in talks with the player over a possible transfer, while Liverpool are also monitoring the player’s situation. Richard Hughes is looking to put together a squad for the future, with the Premier League champions keen on the South American side.
What is the possibility of Subiabre transferring in January?
Graham Bailey said: “Zubiabre is one of those players who would be in his mid-20s given how long we’ve heard of him. His name has been mentioned as one of Argentina’s top young players for a number of years now.
“To be fair to him and his family, I hear he is not pushing for early retirement, even though he sees many of his contemporaries moving on.
“From speaking to scouts and the club, it is now believed that Subiabre’s move could happen in 2026. It is likely to happen in the summer, but don’t be surprised if someone signs a deal in January.”
Ian Subiale could be an asset for the Reds
Subiabre is highly valued throughout South America and Europe. He has a bright future ahead of him and, with the right guidance, could develop into a quality player in the Premier League.
The 18-year-old is primarily a right-sided winger, but can also play on either flank as well as in the middle. His versatility would be a huge bonus for any club whose manager signs him. Liverpool could use more quality and depth in their side and Subiabre would be a solid investment for them.
If he fulfills his potential, he could become a long-term replacement for club legend Mohamed Salah. The opportunity to join the Premier League champions will be very exciting for him. It will be a massive platform and he will aim to showcase his qualities at the highest level.
River Plate are unlikely to let him leave easily and it will be interesting to see whether Premier League clubs are willing to pay a premium.
Arsenal and Chelsea could also add more depth to their flanks. They have struggled to create chances from wide areas and signing an exciting player with a young talent like him could be a smart move.
