Arsenal has long wanted to sign a prolific striker, but it appears to be moving to the Emirates in the near future.
It is no secret that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is eager to see the striker sign. Things like Alexander Isaac, Benjamin Sesco and Ollie Watkins have been linked for the past 12 months, but the club’s preferred target target is Victor Gyoker. The Swedes, who scored 54 goals in all competitions during the 2024-25 season, have had some questions recently, but they are equally desperate to take part.
However, these seem to be greatly dispelled by the bailouts of Arsenal and its supporters.
Arsenal set for Viktor Gyokeres’ agreement with Sporting CP
As reported by Athletic, Arsenal is in the final stages of agreeing to a deal with Sports CP to sign Gyoker. There are only details that have been progressing over the last 248 hours, separating the two clubs from signing contracts.
Arsenal has already agreed to personal terms with Gyoker, who will sign a five-year contract upon arrival in north London. If the contract is finalized in the next few days, he will be able to join with his new teammates for most of his preseason schedule.
Arsenal has been extremely busy in the transfer market for the past few weeks and they have had to do so. The deals for Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard have already been completed and Gyoker will need to join soon.
Noni Madeuke’s deal is also fully completed and once he and Gyoker are signed, Arsenal aims to sign the left-wing options. Eberechi Eze is the favourite candidate at this stage, but there is also the possibility that Real Madrid’s Rodrigo will move.
