According to Football Insider, Arsenal is reportedly having a high-level discussion to sign Bayern Munich’s winger Kingsley Coman.
Despite being on a contract until 2027, Coman suffers from injuries, reducing his playing time under manager Vincent Kompany.
The French international star, who is also chased by Tottenham, is about to leave Bayern Munich this summer after a successful Bundesliga spell.
The 28-year-old is a great servant on the German side and has previously won titles with Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.
Mick Brown claims that Arsenal is in discussion with a French representative.
“Coman was impressive wherever he was.” He told the soccer insider.
“He has been consistently given a level of performance for Bayern Munich, and now it’s whether he can do that in the Premier League.
“He is certainly a quality player and a lot of teams have seen him.
“Arsenal is one of them and I hear they will talk to his agents and representatives and understand if he is open to the movement.
“Mikel Arteta wants to add an experienced winner to his team, and he is certainly one of them.
“But Arsenal has to be sure he will make a difference on the pitch.
“He cannot come and become a passenger based on his reputation as Raheem Sterling.
“It’s something the scouts have to understand, they’d seen him most weeks, and they can assess whether his current abilities match his reputation.”
From Kingsley Coman to Arsenal?
This season’s injuries have hindered Arsenal’s title challenge, and Arteta is keen to add even more depth to his team.
Their wide range of players, Bucayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, have spent quite a bit of time with injuries this season.
During their absence, the club had to resort to Raheem Sterling, who is no longer the same player, and young Ethan Nwaneri, who is no longer a finished product at this time.
Signing a player like Coman adds firepower to Arsenal’s offense, increasing the depth of the team.
Another player aiming for a wide offensive position for the gunner is Bournemouth’s Antoine Semeyo, but the competition to sign him this summer is tough.
