Arsenal is increasingly likely to miss Leroy Thane’s signature this summer thanks to Harry Kane.
German International reportedly agreed to the outlook for Bayern Munich (the contract expires in 2025) at the start of the 2024/25 campaign.
However, the Bayern giant’s classy performance in the second half of the campaign revived his career at Allianz Arena.
Sane tallied 11 goals and four assists in 36 appearances this season (over all competitions).
Harry Kane is trying to keep Leroy Sone in Munich
Kane was able to prove once again that he was still an Arsenal foil. The former Tottenham man is reportedly “campaigning” his Bayern teammate to get a contract extension.
But one hope for gunners is that potential pay cuts prove that one hurdle is too much for the 29-year-old winger.
“Bayern Munich and Leroy Sane are in discussions over a new contract. Sane wants to stay in Munich.” Christian Folk writes in the columns of his exclusive fact files.
“Kane and Musiala are campaigning for him to get a new contract. He has worked so well recently that his chances have improved.
“The remaining issue: Will Sane accept a salary cut? He currently earns 20 million euros a year. If so, it’s difficult for an interested Premier League club. FC Bayern is currently in an advantageous position.”
Anyway, it is understood that Mikel Arteta’s side has already begun discussions prior to the summer transfer period.
Arsenal could benefit from the quality of Leroy Sane
Beyond the incredible talent of Arsenal poster boy Buka Yosaka, his offensive teammates have a true question mark.
Kai Havertz (20) is the closest to England International’s 24 goal contributions (though he plays nine more games.
Beyond that, Ethan Nwaneri, Leandro Torosador, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus are all short.
player | The contribution of goals | Several minutes for each target contribution |
silly | twenty four | 77.16 |
Kai Havertz | 20 | 138.8 |
Ethan Nwaneri | 10 | 115.3 |
Gabriel Taney | 12 | 215.83 |
Gabriel Jesus | 9 | 133.77 |
Leandro Trossard | 14 | 191.28 |
Meanwhile, Leroy Sane’s 15-goal contribution in 1,827 minutes made him a better position, once every 121.8 minutes, or assists. Only Nwaneri and Saka can compete with that rate.
Of course, if Arsenal is similar to Germany’s pay packet reduction in London, this is all potentially irrelevant.
If they want to challenge Perian for the Bundesliga and play Bayern, a competitive club in the Champions League, they need to provide a viable alternative.
