Arsenal may have just 11 days to complete a transfer transaction for Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins due to the PSR deadline.
It has been widely reported that villas may be under pressure to sell players to maintain in line with Premier League profit and sustainability regulations.
Still, the deadline for making these sales is just over a week, so Arsenal may not be long to pull Watkins at an advantageous price.
Gunner has been linking with Benjamin Sesco and other strikers this summer, and Watkins has also given the radar one name.
England International was first targeted by Arsenal in January, and the then villa refused a bid.
Can Arsenal still sign Ollie Watkins?
Some transfers can move very quickly, but 11 days aren’t too long for such a major saga to resolve.
As Sesko imagines maintaining Arsenal’s priorities, that might mean Watkins will remain for the time being.
The 29-year-old is a very important player on Unai Emery’s side and it’s difficult for them to trade, so that’s good news for villa fans.
Who else could the villa sell this summer?
Still, AVFC has recently had to make unnecessary sales. Douglas Lewis joined Juventus last summer, while John Duran moved to Al Nassle in January.
There will certainly be speculation about Watkins and other big names like Villa Park’s Morgan Rogers.
It would be interesting to see who will ultimately make the path as the villa may need to sell before it can be purchased.
