Arsenal reportedly is on track with a contract talk with key centre back William Saliba.

Gunners seem to be doing their best to bring Saliba into a new contract despite remaining the top target for Real Madrid.
Just Arsenal reports that Los Blancos remains keen on France International despite signing Dean Huyssen of Bournemouth this summer.
Similarly, Fabrizio Romano recently reported Catch off side That Real Madrid still wanted Saliba, even after the Huyssen deal.
He insisted that the Spanish giants were ready to grow for Saliba, but he also emphasized that the player is happy with Arsenal, so it is unlikely that it will happen unless he clearly decides to sign a new contract.
Keeping William Saliba is important for Arsenal
It’s not easy for players to turn down Real Madrid, so Arsenal must do everything possible to convince Saliba to commit his future to the club.
If they can do that, it will be absolutely huge for their project, and the North London giants will need to be built around Saliba for years to come.
The 24-year-old is one of the best defenders in the world and certainly has a huge impact on big clubs like Real Madrid.
However, it’s hard to imagine how Arsenal could replace him, so this is not a deal they can afford to misunderstand.
Next season could be important for this Arsenal project
Saliba looks like something very important in Mikel Arteta’s project, so I imagine that Saliba might want to see how the next season will go for Arsenal.
Arsenal has come close to winning Premier League titles in 2022/23 and 2023/24, but the season just didn’t challenge strongly in the past.
The Arteta men have been able to do well to reach the Champions League semifinals for the third time in the club’s history, but they can finally do it next season in that they have won silverware.
Saliba and others may not stick to anything else if it is not clear that the AFC will not cross the line in the major competition they are competing in.
