Don’t waste time feeling sorry for yourself after missing out on a Premier League title. Arsenal is reportedly ready to go ahead of its rivals.
Arsenal’s summer transfer plan
Once they arrive with what they need to do, there’s no doubt that new sports director Andrea Berta will be making a statement at Arsenal this summer. While the injury issue is far from Mikel Arteta’s side this season, there’s no denying that their team simply wasn’t strong enough – especially in the future. And that has to change next season.
Arsenal attackers in the Premier League this season (via FBREF) | Min | the goal | assist |
---|---|---|---|
silly | 1,454 | 6 | 10 |
Gabriel Taney | 1,956 | 7 | 4 |
Kai Havertz | 1,839 | 9 | 3 |
Leandro Trossard | 2,264 | 8 | 5 |
Arsenal’s struggle, which has been involved in 52 Premier League goals between the four of this season, is nowhere near the frontline, which has been hit in injury and disappointing ways.
On that front, the transfer rumors are already thick and faster, with just two options that have found themselves in headlines over the past few weeks.

Of course, Watkins isn’t the new name for Arsenal’s radar either. The Aston Villa striker found himself at the centre of interest during the January transfer period, but only opted out of movement worth £60 million.
Now, it will certainly be interesting to see if Berta has decided to perform the Arsenal U-turn as his first act as sports director in a few months now. Watkins definitely has the ability to change the Arteta frontline, but it could be the first of many new names to arrive in the Emirates in the coming months.
Arsenal is ready to fit Wesley’s price tag
According to catch-offside, Arsenal is currently ready to jump the queue before anything like Chelsea to fit Wesley’s 35 million euros (£30 million) price tag and secure a right-back signature. It is reportedly already in contact with Flamengo’s gem, so the gunner must make an official move when the transfer window opens.
Wesley, dubbed “huge” by U23 Scout Antonio Mango, is certainly something to watch. At just 21 years old, he was impressed enough that Flamengo’s senior team was attracting the attention of the Premier League.
By making a decision, the defender must evaluate his options and choose the next club. The big question is whether they will receive much needed game time at Arsenal in the race with Ben White and Julian Timber. Both players have the experience Wesley lacks as the youth will become Arteta’s fifth fullback signature as the boss of the gunners.
With the summer transfer window approaching, it appears that Flamengo’s gems will likely steal more and more headlines in the coming months.
