Arsenal continues to be linked to the movement of Swedish international striker Victor Gjoker, and players are hoping to join this summer.
According to a report by Portuguese publication Correio Da Manha (H/T SportWitness), players have not requested a meeting with Sports CP president regarding summer moves. The players appear to be very enthusiastic about taking part in the North London outfit.
Players set for the showdown
Gyoker has a clause of 100 million euros in his contract, but the Portuguese had an agreement with the player’s agent to sanction his departure for a fee of around 60 million euros.
So far, Sports CP has not respected that agreement and players hope to resolve the situation in a meeting with the club chief.
Viktor Gyoker may improve weapons
He has been one of the best strikers in European football over the past few seasons, scoring 54 goals in all competitions last season. There’s no doubt that Arsenal needs a player with his skill set, and he was able to change them with the offense. Gunners are still struggling and need a reliable finisher to push key trophies.
Gabriel Jesus and Kai Herberts can’t consistently find the backstage of the net, and signing a trustworthy centre can make a huge difference.
It will be interesting to see if Portuguese costumes are ready to sell players for reasonably priced money. The club rarely pays 100 million euros to the 27-year-old striker.
The striker is linked to clubs like Manchester United, but Arsenal appears to be in Paul’s position to get the deal. The fact that players are trying to drive movement is a big boost for the London Club.
