Aston Villa is being tilted to consider Dominique Calvert Lewin’s slightly dangerous movements this summer as he is heading towards the centre of free agent.
The former Everton striker, who recently left Goodison Park at the end of his contract, has remained available without a club for the time being.
Still, there was a lot of speculation about where Calvert Lewin could go next. The 28-year-old could definitely become a top Premier League player in his time.
After some injury issues and loss of form towards the end of his time at Everton, the club may not be sure about Calvert Lewin.
However, former Leicester City and Brentford manager Martin Allen admits that Villa can be seen being seduced by players to gamble.
Dominique Calvert Lewin to Aston Villa?
Discussing this possibility with Villa News, Allen said:
“But if he trains hard all summer and builds fitness for a good six-week period, he will score a goal.
“If Villa takes him on a free transfer and gambles him, it could be rewarding. I could see a move to Villa happening because he has the talent, there’s no doubt about that.”
Aston Villa may need a Calvert Lewin to replace Watkins
There continues to be uncertainty about the future of Ollie Watkins at Villa Park.
The English striker has linked to Manchester United and with Give Me Sport, and Unai Emery may need to consider bringing in a replacement soon.
Calvert-Lewin may not be the best candidate, but he is at least an available and low-cost option, and certainly worth considering.
