Emery spoke after his victory over the struggling Spurs and praised the players for turning their home into a serious fortress.
“I’m very grateful to the supporters,” Emery said. “Here we feel strong and we feel comfortable. We only lost one match in our first match against the Premier League, Arsenal. Gradually, we got better. Of course, we drew a few matches along the way.
“We have to embrace the 37 games we played, more or less, the moments that are feeling good and the best they can get right now, and we are achieving the challenges we face.
“The Premier League is the most important competition we face because through that we are once again gaining our main objective and our goal is to be in Europe.
“We’re in Europe next year, but we’re running for Champions League positions and we have a chance to get it in our last match in Manchester.”
Aston Villa opens with Axel Disaji about participating next season
The Champions League Chase results have a direct impact on recruitment plans from the field, but that has not stopped NSWE and Monchi from making moves behind the scenes.
Chelsea lender Axel Disasi can stay beyond 2024/2025, with the French being highly rated by Emery, the coaching staff and Villa’s transfer chief.
It says Villa has already held talks with the disaster on attending next season, according to Foot Mercato.
The 27-year-old spent £39 million on Chelsea to sign from Monaco in 2023, and Fabrizio Romano recently claimed that they wanted to sell him for profit this summer. It is unclear how willing the Villa will pay to maintain the disaster in the Midlands, but he could be an important addition.
The defender is sometimes referred to as a “leader,” and his experience at the top level can be invaluable to Emery.
