According to Sky SportsAtletico Madrid is interested in signing Christian Romero of Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
The 26-year-old defender appears to be unhappy with the Spurs’ lack of ambitions and the way the club operates. He publicly criticized his current employer, frequently changed his coaching staff and did not strengthen his team as needed. His words are now ringing in a ring of strong truth. The Angipost Koglu team is sitting 14th at the Premier League table amid a critically injured crisis. Romero himself was part of that crisis, missing 25 games in all competitions due to injuries since the start of the season.
Nevertheless, Atletico has been monitoring Romero’s progress for many years and is confident that Argentina International has what it takes to become one of the best centre-backs on the planet under the leadership of Diego Simeone.
Romero remains on the contract for two years, and the Spurs may consider offering services this summer, unless they sign a new deal.
