The Los Angeles Lakers officially launched a new era during NBA training camp.
Following a busy offseason, NBA training camp is finally here and the Los Angeles Lakers are undoubtedly one of the most talked about teams in the league.
After all, the Lakers were able to ultimately sign DeAndre Ayton’s true center. With Luka Donsic on the roster, many hope that Ayton will form a great Lakers duo.
Speaking of two stars, Lakers’ Austin Reeves recently shared his first impression of seeing a dynamic, hardwood duo.
Ayton, the former No. 1 overall pick, could undoubtedly become the dominant player of purple and gold.
However, it’s no surprise that it will take some time for Ayton to get used to the headhead of JJ Redick’s tactics.
That said, Reaves said Ayton “sees good” during his first practice with Doncic.
“This is the first time I’ve seen him and Luka play. Luka passes the ball so well, so expect an open lob around the paint and have to paint an open floater, but it looks great,” Reaves told the media.
He added: “But we have to keep building it, and we have a learning curve when we want to do something, so that was fun.”
Ayton’s move to the Lakers is touted as the best move of the offseason, but fans will know if it comes true or not.
For years, LeBron James has been the main pull for free agent stars considering joining the Lakers. But with Donsic’s arrival, the Slovenian star is now playing that role on the team.
Ayton was recruited by Don Sic following the acquisition of a deal with the Portland Trail Blazers early in the offseason.
But what is his honest thought about Luka? According to Ayton, Donsic is the face of the league. Now it’s been greatly praised.
The early signs look great, but can the duo maintain this chemistry throughout the regular season and playoffs? Only time can be seen.
