Bangladesh’s Cricket Committee (BCB) and Afghan Cricket Committee (ACB) are in advanced discussions to play the White Ball Series in the UAE in October 2024. According to the Clickbuzz report, the proposed tour will include three ODIs and three T20Is, but the exact date for the series has not been confirmed yet.
Afghanistan and Bangladesh were originally scheduled to perform their full-scale series in July 2024, featuring two tests, three ODIs and three T20Is. However, Bangladesh later requested a postponement due to concerns over the player’s workload.
In response, the Afghan Cricket Committee proposed a revised White Ball series with three ODIs and three T20Is in Greater Noida, India from July to August. However, it was shelved due to concerns over the unfavourable monsoon weather and Bangladesh’s choked schedule.

Afghanistan and Bangladesh will play the White Ball Series in October
Afghanistan and Bangladesh will play the White Ball series, consisting of three ODIs and three T20ISs, in early October. Following the series, Bangladesh will host the West Indies later that month, and Afghanistan will tour Zimbabwe.
The T20I series will help both teams prepare for the 2026 T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, giving them the opportunity to confirm team combinations.
This will be their first T20I meeting since the 2024 T20 World Cup clash in Kingstown, when Afghanistan beat the Bangla Tigers to reach their first semifinals at the ICC event. The two last met in November 2024 when Afghanistan won the ODI Series 2-1.
White Ball Series – Discussing with ACB about BCB Cricket Operations Manager
Shahriar Nafees of BCB Cricket Operations Manager confirmed that consultations are underway with the ACB to complete the Whiteball series, which was postponed early in 2024. Nafees also noted that two test matches, which are part of the original schedule, will be played later.
“We are discussing with ACB about a White Ball series that includes three ODIs and many T20Is rescheduled in 2024. We plan to play the remaining two Test matches that fit both boards at other times.”
Venue not yet confirmed for the series – Shahriar Nafees
Shahriar Nafees said the series is expected to take place in October, but the venue has not yet been confirmed. He revealed that the previously held three-match ODI series was not part of the tour rescheduled in 2024.
“The venue has not yet been confirmed, but if everything goes according to the plan, the series could take place in the coming October (2025). Previously, I played three ODIs against Afghanistan, but it wasn’t part of the tour rescheduled in 2024,” Nafees added.
Meanwhile, Sayeed Naseem Sadat, a spokesman for the Afghan Cricket Committee, confirmed the development but refused to share details.
