Bangladesh have announced their squad for the limited overs series against West Indies with Mahidul Islam Ankhon being called up to the ODI squad. Soumya Sarkar also returned to the team for the first time since the Champions Trophy.
West Indies are scheduled to travel to Bangladesh for three ODI matches to be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on October 18, 21 and 23.
The series will be a follow-up tour after the West Indies team arrives in the subcontinent for a two-match Test series against India starting October 2.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced the 16-member squad for the three-match ODI series, with middle-order batsman Mahidul Islam Ankhon earning his maiden ODI call-up. In the recent series, they suffered a humiliating loss against Afghanistan.
Two players who played against Afghanistan in the third ODI on Tuesday, Mohammad Naim and paceman Nahid Rana, also missed the upcoming series due to tension and are also ruled out.
The West Indies have already landed in Dhaka, and the Tigers have also arrived in Dhaka after completing their whitewash against Afghanistan. Therefore, the next series will be an opportunity to restore the winning streak and Mehdi Hasan Miraz will focus on the same.
Litton Das absent from ODI series due to injury
West Indies canceled Thursday’s practice session and press conference, the reason for which is currently unknown. However, Windies head coach Darren Sammy and batsman Brandon King were at Mirpur’s Sher-Bangla National Cricket Stadium for an optional session.
Sowmya Sarkar, who last played in the Champions Trophy in February, has been recalled for the series. Soumya Sarkar did not play in the previous series against Afghanistan. Meanwhile, T20I captain Litton Das, who led the team in the Asia Cup, is unlikely to play in the ODIs due to a side strain injury sustained in the Asia Cup.
Litton missed the ODIs and the T20I series against Afghanistan and continues to be rested as the BCB was not willing to take any risks with the T20I skipper.
