With Louis Diaz and Darwin Nunes likely already heading towards the exit door, Liverpool is reportedly currently facing the threat of losing another of the key men to Barcelona.
Bavaria makes a fresh move to sign Dias
Liverpool aims to make their biggest statement by signing Newcastle United star Alexander Isaac, so they were able to show the door to Diaz along the way. The Colombian has been linked to travelling away from Anfield all summer, and it is Bayern Munich who is fighting for his signature.
But as ever, Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes have proven themselves tough negotiators. The Bundesliga giants have said Diaz is not on sale consistently, but Liverpool’s chances of signing Isaac may have left Door Ajar to finally reach an agreement.
In the latest update, SkySports reports that Bayern has resumed its speech to sign the 28-year-old winger for the first time after seeing the £58.5 million offer rejected earlier this summer.
The Anfield people are reportedly supported for improved offers now, but it remains to be seen whether that will meet Edwards and Hughes’ demands to sell Diaz.
Meanwhile, Nunez could also be heading towards the exit door amid reports that Al-Hilal is having internal discussions about securing his signature on a deal worth more than £60 million.

Liverpool is still ready to operate in the summer transfer market.
If Hugo Ekitike’s arrival pushes the ex-Benfica man down to the Pecking order, Isak’s arrival will make him completely surplus into the requirements at Merseyside.
However, Liverpool should not be overly concerned about losing any of the attacking stars given the strength of its division. Instead, their concerns should focus elsewhere on their team.
Barcelona enters the race and signs Conate
According to a Spanish report, Barcelona is currently in a race to sign Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate alongside Laliga rival Real Madrid. The French defender is currently set to leave next year as a free agent this time, but has managed to follow in the footsteps of Trent Alexander Arnold.
Meanwhile, the Anfield Chiefs reportedly were desperate to avoid the same fate and presented new contract offers to the already important defenders.
Unlike Diaz and Nunes, Conate is not an easy player to swap. The towering central defender is at the peak of his power at the 26-year-old and should be seen as an ultimate alternative to van Dijk in the leadership role within the backline of Arne Slot. But that is not possible unless he signs a new deal.
Liverpool without Konate last season | Records (via the transfer market) |
---|---|
game | 14 |
I’ll win | 9 |
draw | 2 |
loss | 3 |
Recognized goals | 19 |
What stands out most when Liverpool didn’t have a 70,000-pound week defender last season is the fact that they conceded around 1.4 goals in the game compared to a 1.2 record next to Van Dik at the backline.
Simply put, replacing Conate at this stage of his career with someone who can perform instantly at a similar level will likely pass on the toughest job this summer.
