According to AS, Barcelona have contacted Dusan Vlahovic’s agent about the possibility of signing the Serbian striker as a free agent after the season ends.
Barça’s current first-choice forward, Robert Lewandowski, is also out of contract next summer. The possibility of the Polish veteran signing a new contract has not been ruled out, but he will be 38 by then, so leaving is also a realistic option. Due to this situation, it is natural that the Catalan club started searching the market for a new player to lead the attack.
Vlahovic, on the other hand, has started the season very well, scoring 5 goals (4 goals and 1 assist) in 8 games in Serie A and the Champions League. Still, there doesn’t seem to be a sufficient level of trust between the 25-year-old and head coach Igor Tudor, with the club opting to bring in Reus Openda and Jonathan David as alternative options this summer.
Like Barcelona’s Lewandowski, Blachowicz could sign a new contract, but that seems unlikely at the moment.
