“Barnstorming” Sunderland player agreed to a move to a foreign club this summer with a last minute permanent transfer.
Le Bliss is wary of Burnley’s threat
The Black Cats pretended their dreams in the Premier League last weekend, beating West Ham 3-0 at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland can’t afford to take glory, but with his fellow promoted Sideburn Lee next Saturday, manager Regis Le Bliss doesn’t take Claret for granted.
“It’s always a different story. They (Burnley) enjoyed something really strong last year. They were really consistent and they got stronger to win. They barely acknowledge their goals and they were always well organized, so I don’t think it’s different in the next game.
“They still have a lot of threats to score goals. Against Tottenham, they could change the system and change it again or keep the same thing. At the same time, we have a different team. The players who played with new players last season.”
For Sunderland, it was a ruthless summer when it comes to new signatures, but with up to 11 permanent additions, there are updates on current players exits.

“Barnstorming” Sunderland Player agrees to a “permanent” exit
I’ll take it to xO’Rourke said Sunderland midfielder Nectarios Triantis agreed to the MLS side’s move to Minnesota United and struck the deal in the final moments before the windows closed on Thursday evening.
“We understand that Sunderland Midfielder Nectarios Triantis has agreed to the move to Minnesota United on a permanent transaction before the MLS forwarding deadline ends.”
This feels like a fitting time for Triantris to seal off a permanent exit from the Black Cat, given that he spent the last two seasons lending at Scottish Premiership Side Hibernian.
For the 22-year-old, he may have revealed that he had no long-term future in Sunderland amidst the competition for a Premier League location. Also, the move to MLS was good for him, and was hailed as “burnstorming” by producer Sacha Pisani after one goal for HIBS.
Triantris ultimately didn’t perform in Sunderland and made only five appearances, but he’s young enough to enjoy a good career elsewhere as the years go by.
