Ben Rothwell could become the BKFC “champion” when the promotion debuts in Australia.
BKFC announced on Tuesday that its debut card, held in Australia on July 18th, will be headlined by Alex Simon Fighting for its first BKFC Super Heavyweight title. Rothwell (MMA’s 37-14) won the heavyweight title this January with a 36-second Mick Terrill knockout.

Simon makes his naked knuckle debut with a chance to win gold in his home country. A longtime powerlifting standout, Simon has been competing sporadically in combat sports since 2018. He is 1-1 as an MMA fighter, and most recently stepped into the boxing ring in August 2023 when he lost five round TKOs to Bryce Jones.
In the joint main event, Australia’s own Beck Rawlings will face Jade Masson Wong in a flyweight match. Veteran MMA fighter Rawlings snapped three fight skids in the BKFC ring this January when he won the unanimous decision over Taylor Sterling. Masson-Wong is 3-2 at BKFC, falling out of the loss of a split decision to Christine Ferea.
BKFC 79 will be held on July 18th at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia.
