Benehl Dalyusch has not given Ilia Topria many opportunities.
Shortly after Charles Oliveira’s first round destruction at UFC 317, Pinblett was in the cage for a heated showdown with the “Elmatador”, who quickly became physical.
It was an interesting encounter, but the fighters and fans quickly downplayed the possibility of abdicated Pinblet’s Topuria. That includes Dariush, who did not engrave words while discussing the proposed conflict with Schmo.
“Ilia’s performance was a master class. You can’t deny that guy. He’s very good, he’s elite,” Darych said of Topria’s performance against Oliveira in Las Vegas. “As long as Paddy is in, I don’t know why they did it. They want to give Paddy a title shot. Ilia wants that fight too, and it’s almost like having a child feed a lion.”
“You never know, he may have something, but up until now, Ilia seemed unstoppable. It feels like a genocide sheep, but you don’t know.
Veneil Dariush returns to Flies under the radar of UFC 317
The candidate for the highlight reel knockout of Topuria’s “Do Bronx” and the fight between Brandon Royval and Joshua Van stole all the headlines during International Fight Week, but Dariush offered one of his most impressive performances in the main card opener.
Bouncing off a brutal pair of costumes against Oliveira and Ahman Tsarkian, Dalyusch hit Renato Moicano from pillar to post, earning a unanimous decision victory.
In the process, the Iranian-born candidate lived very much in the lightweight rankings.
