Liverpool is reportedly set to test their luck with a £50 million transfer move this summer for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton.
The talented 21-year-old has been a palace revelation since joining Blackburn Rovers about a year ago, and it makes sense that a big club like Liverpool is keen on him.
Wharton was once again great for the palace as he defeated Aston Villa 3-0 yesterday to reach the FA Cup final.
It’s clear that Wharton is ready to go to the top, and if they bring an offer he’ll surely be seduced by Liverpool.
According to the Sun, the Reds are planning to do what they can to seduce England International to Anfield this summer.
Adam Wharton Transfer: Liverpool certainly not alone to target palace stars
Wharton is likely to have many suitors if it becomes available this summer, with £50 million likely to look like a bargain for young people in the long run.
A recent report from TeamTalk linked Wharton with Manchester United, Catch off side I’ve been informed of my interest from Arsenal before.
Man UTD legend Rio Ferdinand recently sang Wharton’s praises and urged him to take him to remind him of Michael Carrick to his old club.
“Adam Wharton, Crystal Palace midfielder – I’m going to him,” Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel.
“The reason I’m taking him is someone who can take the ball and transfer it from the middle of the pitch.
“He has a wide range of passes, and I think he will be a great addition to his team, his younger English talent.
“He’s like Carrick sometimes. The way he slaps the ball.”
Liverpool already has a lot of depth in the middle, but Wharton makes sense in that area of the pitch as an upgrade to Wataru End and Curtis Jones.
United definitely need him more given the misery of their team, but it would also make the LFC a more attractive option for him.
