La Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers should come up with the trade ideas of former MVP Joel Embiid.
It’s been a few days since La Lakers’ season crashed after a halt and crashed in a 4-1 series loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
General Manager Rob Perinka quickly turned to improvements on the roster, vowing to add size and depth of defence to his team.
There’s been a busy few weeks of speculation awaiting. Tim McMahon proposed another Lakers Mavericks trade to send Daniel Gafford to LA.
Other proposed names include Miles Turner and Nazreed. Two players compete in the NBA playoffs.
And now there are some strange proposals being proposed… Joel Embiid.
Speaking about his podcast, Ringer Bill Simmons abandoned the idea that Joel Embiid could move to LA.
Embiid has a huge deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, signed last summer.
Simmons argues that the move is likely to be accepted by the Philadelphia 76ers.
“Embiid… talk about getting out of prison,” Simmons suggested.
“Give you all our expiration and the first one, and we’ll drive you out of Joel Embiid’s business. Here your Embiid will be out of the prison free card right now. You don’t have to deal with them anymore.”
“It’s my favorite Lakers move, and I get the Enbaided with all the expiration dates and two first round picks. Reeve isn’t there.”
Co-host Ryen Russillo replied:
The temptation to move in for Joel Embiid is clear. This is the player who scored 50 points in the 2024 Six playoff game.
However, this past season has been horrifying, with Embiid shutting down for the season, with months remaining.
Philadelphia has been stuck with Embiid and his injuries for now, unless the team does a wild swing on him.
The Lakers may see advantages, but the downside is clearly dangerous. This is the team that made a deal with Mark Williams on health concerns.
Embiid has a higher ceiling than Williams. Watching him in LA alongside Luka Donsic, LeBron James and Austin Reeves is at the box office, but that doesn’t feel like a well-end move.
There will be many players that a team can pursue without an injury history like Embiid.
