The Billy Junking Cup final was advanced two months in September.
The new September 16-21 schedule at China’s Shenzhen is better aligned with the calendar of top female tennis players, organizers said Thursday. Shenzhen holds the finals every year until 2027.
After the US opening ends on September 7th, the WTA tour will move to Asia in Beijing for the China Open from September 24th. The tour will then remain in China for the Wuhan Open, with other WTA tournaments taking place in Seoul, Hong Kong, Osaka, Nishida, Tokyo and Jiu-Jitsu Asia from September to October.
Billy Junking Cup defending champions Italy and Host China will be participating in the eight-team lineup. Italy won a 12-country tournament in Malaga, Spain in November.
The other finalists are winners of six qualifying groups held this weekend in Australia, the Czech Republic, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland and Slovakia.
