In the Misano World SBK round, Bimota will perform a special edition of colouring in the team’s second home race.
This colouring adds green to the top of the front of the fairing, making it the standard red and white colour that Bimota has been riding on world superbikes in his return season.
This is a one-off painting job that pays homage to Italian national colour, and in a way, nods to Kawasaki funds and the powerplant under the KB998 fairing behind the project.
“The advancements in the WorldSBK Racing project are collaborating with the ongoing development of the Bimota retail range, including the recently announced KB998 Rimini and Terra motorcycles,” said the COO of Bimota Pierluigi Marconi.
“For existing and newer Bimota fans around the world, we want to proudly display our Italian heritage at Misano. It’s a great way to reflect that rather than adopting the greenery of the Italian flag.”
Like the Bimota factory itself, the Misano Round is also the home round for Axelvassani, two points ahead of the 2025 top Bimota rider Alex Rowes.
“We’re having another home race this weekend. It’s always good to ride home, especially since this time it’s really close to the Bimota factory, which is only 20 minutes long,” Bassani said.
“It’s a real home round. As always, I’m hoping to get 100% off and give Vimota what they deserve. Some good results.
“We try to continue to improve our bike setup. We know which areas we need to improve. It’s not easy to improve anytime soon, but we hope we can do it in the near future.
“The levels at WorldSBK are very high now and there are all new bikes this year. We are trying to do our best. After a recent test at Misano, I feel very good.
“Our pace isn’t bad, so I think the team can do a good job on the weekend.”
For Lowes, the Misano round is to take advantage of the work that was done in the Misano test a few weeks ago.
“It’s going to be a fun weekend at a real home race for Bimota,” he said.
“We worked hard on the Misano test a few weeks ago and learned a lot about bikes. Since the test, we’ve been working hard to analyze the data and bring it all together over the race weekend.
“The truck itself is a lot of fun to ride. I’d like to improve and try to compete for the best results of the season with the Bimota KB998.”
