Birmingham City saw the Blues finish with a record 111 points and then took a stylish coast run along the League One title with five consecutive wins that concluded the season.
This was the first honor to be added to St. Andrew’s Trophy Cabinet since Birmingham’s dramatic League Cup won Arsenal in 2011, but the Tom Wagner-backed Blues are hungry for this kind of success as they head into the championship.
Back-to-back promotion will be the dream goal for Chris Davies men when they re-enter the tricky division, requiring the signing of several new statements to increase the likelihood that they will feel right at home in the EFL’s elite league.
One of these major purchases may be Chairdams. Busy rumors suggest that Birmingham is eager to snap the previous stars and add even more firepower to the ranks.
Birmingham Hunting for Choi Adams
Late last month, Football Insider broke the news that Davis and Co were watching an epic move to seduce Adams into the West Midlands Club.
They further said Birmingham is about to add a 28-year-old to the roster to own a championship-ready goal machine.
But both Jay Stansfield and Alfie may undoubtedly deserve a crack at the level after firing the goal into the house to seal the promotion on their side.
Moreover, Birmingham was able to seal off a better value purchase than landing Adams by signing an EFL star that might make something like a Stance Field.
Birmingham is paying attention to more exciting signatures than Adams
Inviting Adams to St Andrews is not a cheap deal to get over the line, considering he once joined former employer Southampton for £15 million.
Meanwhile, snapping the services of Peterborough United superstar Kwamepok could be much cheaper as Ghanaian Ace’s contract expires in Cambridgeshire, which means there will be a much cheaper compensation fee that must be agreed between both the Blues and the Posh.
Adams’ impressive goal record may justify the bumper fee that Torino wants, but Pok offers more than just a goal for the Davis man.
Of course, Poku’s furious game also focuses on his ability to fire a strike at home, given that he scored a strong 12-league goal for Darren Ferguson’s men last season.
But he can also do selfish and creative looting through the center or down the right channel. That means something like a stance field, and if a 5-foot-10 star finally joins, it could potentially put a plentiful plate for them.
Plus, it’s not guaranteed that Adams returns to the Blues and fires just 12 goals in his first two seasons at the last level he put on the Birmingham strip, but that’s not guaranteed to be an instant success.

Meanwhile, looking at the table above, it appears that Pok, Stansfield and May could become a horrifying trio of championship defences with the talent of “top drawers” as praised by Peterborough Chairman Dara McCantney.
They often don’t plan reunions either. On the other hand, if Poku’s League One figures cost anything, he could be the exact fresh blood that Birmingham needs to be a formidable outfit than he stomps the division.
