BJ Penn has returned to another Bonkers conspiracy theory.
Over the past few years, concerns about Penn’s mental health have risen considerably after the former UFC champion made unusual claims on social media. Recently, the “genius” claimed that members of his family, including his own mother, were murdered and replaced by con artists.
Over the weekend, Penn returned to Instagram, but this time former UFC heavyweight fighter-turned comedian Brendan Schaub claims he is former NFL star Aaron Hernandez, who was convicted of murder before taking his life in 2017.
“CTE is how sports leagues say expensive athletes in their 30s have to suffer brain damage and retire and pay for the athlete peanuts with a young name,” Penn writes. “It’s about money! Is the brain damage true? That’s true. Are you sure the punch is real?
Schaub responds to BJ Penn’s latest conspiracy theory
In response to his ridiculous claims on his podcast, Shaub initially thought it was all a joke.
“When they said it was BJ, I thought it was another real housewife in MMA drama, it’s doing it for caution, but it’s hilarious,” Shaub said. “I put a laughing emoji in the post, and then Mayhem Miller reached out to me and thought, ‘Hey, this is no joke. He’s thinking of Aaron Hernandez.’
“I was going to repost it, but I was making some jokes, and it’s sadder than anything. It’s BJ’s stuff and I didn’t enjoy it. This guy needs help. This doesn’t work.
