The wanted Blake Snell to go back to the bump earlier than he was late.
Derailed with shoulder pain, he recently took part in several long tosses, possibly to facilitate a way back to action.

Naturally, the next step involves the Snell rising in the form of a Bullpen session. According to reports from Orange County RegisterSnell threw 30 pitches to measure his pain resistance. This was the first time he’d thrown to the mound since he was placed in IL a few weeks ago.
Snell provided an update that could make fans a bit unhappy. The left-handed ace admitted that “pain is lingering everywhere.”
“Hey – I’m 32 now, not 23. I’m fine when I throw it,” Snell said. “When I play catch, I don’t feel it. When I get out here, I’m fine. It’s like when I wake up.
From here, Snell plans to throw another bullpen session. The probability is that he could probably throw multiple sessions before being sent to throw a simulated game, or perhaps even take part in a Triple A rehabilitation contest. Assuming that all the pain will subside by then, Snell will rejoin the team.
Due to some concern, Snell made sure things seemed to be heading in the right direction.
“I just want to pitch. Am I worried about that? No,” Snell said. “I was worried about it when I went to IL, but it wasn’t any more. It made me feel much better.”
As the year progressed, the spinning certainly saw a dramatic change. Dustin May, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Grassnow and Joi Shiroki lifted heavy objects, but Snell’s injuries, coupled with expected returns from Clayton Carshow, Shoeki and Tony Gonsorin, won the bullpen (and experience shooting).
The fear of Glasnow’s injuries on Sunday also didn’t exactly help.
