Golden State Warriors season is over, and a mixed campaign verdict is coming.

With so many twists and turns in the 2024-25 season, Golden State Warriors fans can’t say the experience is boring.

The ultimate highlight of the Warriors season was the Jimmy Butler’s hugely successful acquisition. After a crazy midseason struggle that sent them out of play-in photos, Golden State surged with a second half of the season push towards the arrival of the NBA playoffs.

Their fairytale run came to an unfortunate end when they collapsed in five games in the Western Conference semi-finals against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

That may be a disappointing ending, but after falling into the play-in tournament in 2024, the journey back to relevance was promising for the Warriors.

Butler’s arrival gave the Warriors a new hope and optimism they expect to bring in next season.

Bob Myers is a huge fan of the Butler trade in Golden State. Talking ESPN’s NBA countdown, the former Warriors title-winning top executive provided praise summarizing the team’s season progress.

He states: “Three months ago, this was a team under .500 and we were talking about making play-in without going anywhere. Then they do business. Mike Dunleavy makes a deal for Jimmy Butler and they shed tears.

“Stef said that, he just wanted a fighter chance. He wanted to play in a meaningful game.

“They had a fighter opportunity against Minnesota. They beat rockets. Did they have a fighter opportunity against Oklahoma City or Denver?

“At this point in his career, I don’t think he’s saying. I have to be a favorite.” He was there.

Myers also praised the Warriors players and staff for not condemning the collapse against the Timberwolves with Curry’s injuries.

He said: “I’m proud of what the Warriors said. They didn’t say, ‘Well, we’d won with Steph.’ They said, “Look, Minnesota trust.”

“Do they try to improve? Surely, how do they improve? We could talk for an hour about the rules, the money they have, the options they have.

Some analysts have locked the responsibility of the warriors falling into Jimmy Butler’s Timberwolves.

There have been reports that Curry is targeting Game 6 returns after injuring a hamstring in the series opener. Unfortunately, Minnesota has already dispatched Golden State in five games.

Butler disappeared when it was most important. He averaged 15.5 points out of 10.0 field goal attempts in the last two games of the series.

Draymond Green is already defending Butler’s struggle. And for Myers, it’s unfair to hold the Warriors star responsible for everything, referring to the injuries he sustained against the Rocket.

“We can criticize Jimmy Butler, and that’s fair, but I’m going to fight that guy, and I think he’s the winner.

“And he didn’t make any excuses, but you believe that tailbone, pelvic injuries, that won’t go away for only three days. That’s my warning. But I still believe in Jimmy Butler.”

Get ready for the full offseason in front of them and expect Curry, Butler, Green and the rest of the Warriors to run over it and try again next year.
