The Boston Celtics are no longer a favorite in the series with the New York Knicks after falling behind and losing a star player.
Overcoming the 2-0 series deficit was difficult enough for the Boston Celtics before Jason Tatum fell to an injury.
Tatum is later determined to tear Achilles apart, and as he begins his long journey to recovery, he has already undergone surgery.
The Celtics will follow the series 3-2 towards the New York Knicks heading for Game 6 at Madison Square Garden.
The Boston Celtics have released a report of injuries heading into Game 6.
Tatum was the only player listed in the report.

Perhaps the harsh reality of seeing Jason Tatum’s injury confirmed again was a blow from fans who were still shocked.
One fan wrote: “Thanks to the Celtics. I was hoping that the guy who had the surgery torn Achilles would play in four days.”
“I feel like this update is not necessary,” replied another.
“Damn, I thought he might have a chance to play,” another wrote sarcastically.
“I thought he could get through it. Damn it,” another added.
Another fan chuckled, “Do you think he’s ready to go to potential game 7?”
Others added, “Don’t remember us” and “This hits peers,” reflecting the pain the injury update has caused.
“I can’t stand it seeing it hurting for a year,” another fan added.
“I can’t see that in my injury report for a year,” another message echoed.
Another fan added: “I don’t need a reminder, but it still hurts.”
Another aspect of the Tatum-only injury report is that Kristaps Porzingis is not listed with concern.
Porzingis has been suffering from the series with illness, and he commented from the Game 5 starting lineup that Joe Matzla has difficulty breathing.
Luke Cornett produced seven blocks and stepped up with a stunning defensive performance. He is a viable option to start Game 6 in New York.
Officially, Porzingis has no limits, but his situation will have to be carefully managed by the Celtics.
