Brad Pitt nearly starred alongside Tom Cruise in a giant racing film a few years before the recent “F1” film.
The Hollywood superstar took part in an early talk at Ford V Ferrari, a film that appeared six years ago about the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans Race.
Matt Damon and Christian Bale were film stars, but it was pretty much very different.
“Tom and I were with Joe (director Kosinski) for a while at the Ford v Ferrari,” Pitt told the National.
“This was about 10 years ago for those who actually made it and made it a great movie.
“At the end of the day, we both wanted to drive, and he wanted to play Shelby.
“And when Tom realized that Carol Shelby wasn’t driving much in the movies, it didn’t go through.”

Cruise starred in Thunder in the Racing Film era, and Pitt’s F1 film is currently receiving rave reviews.
Within 10 days of its release, it won $293 million, making it Apple’s biggest film.
Lewis Hamilton was a helpful role in the production of the film.
Pitt drove a Mercedes-made car at the 2023 F1 UK Grand Prix in front of fans to film a film scene.
A sequel to the F1 movie with Brad Pitt?
Variety reports that Apple is already considering a sequel.
Pitt wants to star with him in fellow Superstar Cruises, but after his previous failures, he is not optimistic.
“So I don’t know how that works,” he admitted.
“But we’ll give it a try. I want to.”
Pitt revealed that he is open to the second F1 film, although it is not clear what will be next for his character, Sonny Hayes.
“I want to drive again,” Pitt said.
“Formula 1 is still the focus, and we need to be in the rest of the team fighting for the championship with Damson Idris character Joshua Pierce.
“Where will Sonny fit? I’m not sure. Sonny probably has Bonneville Salt Flats, Speed Records and more, so it’s still beyond that.
“Now I’m happy as a punch that something like this can bring people together. That’s the power of this kind of film.”
Hamilton was asked about the sequel to the film.
He said: “We’ve literally finished it, so I think the last thing we want now is a sequel.
“It’s been four years since making, and it’s been a lot of work, especially for Joe. You’re away from your family and away from your kids.
“Also, you just need this for a while and just simmer for a while. Just have fun. I think the worst thing we can do is hurry up with the sequel.
“Most sequels are getting so bad, so there’s no need to hurry. If you make a sequel, I think it’ll actually take the time (in the beginning) to make it even better.”
