Bradley Beal spoke about his path to the roles of La Clippers and Steve Ballmer in him as he joins the team this summer.
The LA Clippers made a series of changes this offseason and helped improve their roster. Perhaps there was no signature that attracted the media attention of Bradley Beale.
The Clippers signed Beer after their acquisition with the Phoenix Suns, ending a disastrous two-year run with the side.
Unfortunately for the Clippers, their offseason work is covered in aspirations – the Kauhi Leonard controversy.
There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding Eccentric Clippers owners, as there is the latest information that appears to imply Steve Ballmer on CAP evasion charges.
Bradley Beal spoke to reporters on Intuit Dome Monday afternoon as part of the LA Clippers’ media day mandate.
When discussing his decision to join the team, Beal pointed out Steve Ballmer and how he runs the organization.
“It wasn’t an easy decision… This especially brought a lot out. Who Steve Ballmer is, how he runs, and what he represents… their pitch was honestly excellent.”
Beal also talks about what role he will play with the LA Clippers, and while he still brings a competitive mentality to the team, he acknowledges that he has an unexpected role on the team.
“The mentality remains the same. Mine has never changed over the last few years. I know who I am and what I can do. I’m prepared to show you that. We are in different roles.
“That’s not something that everyone expects. It’s beneficial for the team. Whatever the job they need to go to, I’ll go there and do it.”
Speaking at the Media Day event, Clippers head coach Tylou suggested he wants to see Bradley Beal come back to being the “elite-level defender” he was with the Washington Wizards.
Clearly, Beal’s role in this team will be much more focused on his defensive contributions than his offensive skills.
If Beale could just get closer to the defender, he was at the peak of his strength in Washington, so the Clippers would have a solid offensive defender in their ranks.
But that’s a big deal if Beal is a very poor defender in his final few seasons in the NBA and his time with Phoenix is especially low-right.
