Brandon Moreno vs. Steve Erceg - UFC Mexico Highlights
SHARE

Brandon Moreno won a big UFC Mexico victory, winning Steve Elseg in the five-round masterclass.

Moreno and Elseg flew over the hands early in the first round, but it was “Assassin’s Baby” who repeatedly blows up Elseg with their right hand.

Second, “Astroboy” began to find his rhythm and took advantage of his jab to land some of his own right hands. Still, it was Moreno who appeared to land a more shocking strike in the second stanza.

Moreno struggled to land in the third round as Elseg appeared to be slowing down. Moreno repeatedly swings loudly, but only hit him in the air, nothing else. “Astroboy” continued to pump his jabs and landed some solid combinations, but neither had anything to do with the substantive, making it a very close round for the judges to score.

Moreno broke the wrestling in the quake seconds of the fourth round, allowing Elsegg to take to the mat like a horn squeal. Before that, Elsegg was hiding mainly behind his jabs, avoiding a ton of shots from his opponent, which was contested with close contested feet.

The fifth round was another close fight between the two elite strikers, but Elsegg seemed uninterested in sitting on his punches and giving the judges anything to rock the scorecard.

The round eventually solidified what would be his first victory in Mexico City, with Moreno putting Elsegg in the mat and landing some elbows.

Official Results: Brandon Moreno def. Steve Elseg (49-46, 49-46, 49-46) unanimously decided
