Brandon Moreno vs. Steve Elseg’s Interesting Points: Flyweight Fisticuffs

The main event in Mexico City will feature the battles of Top Flyweight, Moreno and Elseg.
Elseg is a balanced martial artist who is comfortable on his own feet, poses threats at multiple stages. He is a big flyweight who is not afraid to fight his own frame and has a decent job of staying longer with solid jabs and active kick games.
Whether Elseg punishes enemies low with leg kicks or cleverly high with question mark kicks, the 29-year-old challenger shows excellent control of his lower limbs.
As for his boxing game, Elseg shows an educated left hand that can provide change in both his shot choices and timing. In the clinch, he offers the knee you expect from a fighter with his height, and it’s also good to sneak in at the elbow that he likes to fold the frame.
Elsegg appears to be doing some of his best jobs when countering and sharp shooting from range, but he hasn’t surpassed being caught upright from the counter in exchange.
Please enter Brandon Moreno.
Having initially stepped into the UFC scene like a grapple first fighter, Moreno developed into a more complete and technical threat as he matured.
Only 31 years old, Moreno continues to settle and win and lose, almost unshakable as if determined to finish a battle stronger than his opponents. However, looking beyond the short, rude moments when his character came to shine, you can play a more mature counter game.
Always a fan of the left hook fan (forward and off the counter), Moreno does a better job of changing both timing and target, often making it work from the jab. The lead side-savvy theme is trendy for Mexican fighters, in a way that puts lead leg kicks on his combination when Moreno feels a stride.
Moreno also has tips for navigating extended replacements. In this case, it could lead to some grappling opportunities.
Brandon Moreno vs. Steve Elseg’s Interesting Points: The Threat of Potential Initiatives

Considering the possibility of foot chaos, no one should be shocked if these two are intertwined on the floor.
Erceg, who resembles Alexander Volkanovski, is also a gold medalist in Australia’s national wrestling, and doesn’t just switch gears to go for takedowns.
From double legs along the fence to open reactive shots, Elseg looks like a savvy wrestler from multiple spots. And when his opponent tries to film in Elseg, Australia’s standout shows him a positive position and a powerful front headlock that allows him to fall into potential suffocation.
Luckily for Moreno, Mexicans are far from leaning forward in the grappling department.
Starting a career like Jiu-Jitsu fighter, Moreno swam wisely towards the wrestling side of things (from an offensive perspective) after being given the opportunity to train the state through the UFC’s previous developmental program.
Moreno still hadn’t surpassed being beaten or scoring submissions from his back, but he gave a glimpse of many improvements during his first run in the promotion.
Moreno was far more aggressive with his feet during this second stint, but it appears he hasn’t ignored the rest of his game. As far as grappling and wrestling scrambling goes, Moreno was able to come out on top of the stanza against some of the best grapplers in the division, with Jusie Formiga and Askar Askarov (in my opinion, he obviously beat-beat).
Brandon Moreno vs Steve Elseg’s odds
Odds makers and the public are in favor of Mexican fighters, listing Moreno-250 and Elseg+190 via Fundael.
Brandon Moreno vs. Steve Elseg Prediction, Pick

Brandon Moreno
Given the current trend of the UFC to book fighters by losing skids on the other side of their home hero, I don’t think it’s surprising that bets spread out above. I do not object to who is preferred, I warn anyone who feels too confident on either side of this charm.
Given the speed and technicality of the action when playing, flyweight fights are often a much closer contest scored than some.
Not only is the Elseg a fighter familiar with Moreno’s lead hand, but it also proves that the Australians can carry high power in five rounds. Mexico City’s elevation will certainly test Elseg, but no one should be surprised that he can compete for a punch for a punch with Moreno.
However, the potential problem is that Moreno, who already has an experience advantage, also appears to have some advantages in the wrestling and durability departments.
Despite Elsegg’s admiration, his wrestling still shows room for growth when he competes with weight class Upper Echelon. While we shouldn’t say Elseg is “Chinee,” it is hard to believe that he wonders when the point of losing will come until the Australian candidate loses the weight cut to fight in the flyweight division.
I’m a huge Elseg fan and wouldn’t mind being wrong about this. It’s always difficult to support fighters after the UFC has already helped them into proverb horns. I hope this isn’t another case of rushing (and potentially ruining) young products by being too fast promotion, but the pick is moreno for a competitive victory on the scorecard.
prediction: Moreno by decision
