Now, the former San Diego Padres outfielder is facing suspension after testing positive for a substance banned by major league baseball. Profar tests positive for HCG and is suspended at 80 games without pay.
The began the series with the Atlanta Braves on Monday, and after being stopped by MLB, Prepar will not play the field on the left. He signed with the Braves in late January and played in just four games before news of his suspension was revealed.
Profar appeared to provoke LA fans in the postseason, but when the got a final laugh, the outfielder refused to give them credit where the credit came. Perhaps 24 consecutive scoreless innings from the Padres were difficult for the frank far to swallow.
“We did a lot of unusual things,” Profar said. “We don’t want to give credit to their pitching either.
“It’s sad for this team. We had everything we should go all the way. But it’s baseball. It’s baseball. They played better than us in the last two games. And we’re going home.”
However, PRORAR became the ‘ nemesis long before the NLDS. He exchanged words with Will Smith last April.
“I don’t know what his deal is,” Smith said after the incident. “He thought we were about to throw it at him. I don’t know why we threw it at him. He’s a bit irrelevant. But I don’t know.
