The biggest compliment to your organization is when the opposing team actively tries to poach your talent.
In the case of the Los Angeles , the franchise is widely considered to be the gold standard in the sport of baseball. It seems trite that other teams would want to lure coaches, scouts, and even players away from the boys in blue to reveal their “secret sauce to success.”

MLB.com’s Mark Bowman shares his thoughts on the upcoming offseason regarding the Atlanta Braves. Atlanta is looking for a new captain since Brian Snitker is no longer at the helm. One name that has been gaining attention recently is Los Angeles bench coach Danny Lehmann.
“As for bench coach Danny Lehmann, his candidacy appears to have strengthened in recent weeks. Lehmann was an advance video scout in Los Angeles when Anthopoulos was with the in 2016-17. The two have stayed in touch in the years since.”
“The are scheduled to begin their World Series game against the Blue Jays on Friday, and Lehman’s candidacy could force the Braves to wait until November to announce their next manager.”
Lehman’s path to the was an interesting one. Lehman, 40, was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 2007 out of Rice University. After struggling in the minor leagues for several years, he turned to coaching and has been with the since 2015.
Lehman first joined the franchise as a video scout and worked his way up the corporate ladder. From there, he became a game planning and communications coach. In 2023, he was promoted to manager Dave Roberts’ reliable in-game support system. Lehman can often be seen standing right next to Roberts every time a shot goes into the dugout.

Lehman, who spent 10 years with the , is said to be a highly polished individual and highly analytical. Some modernization may be in order for the Braves, a team coming off a disastrous 2025 season. The roster is still loaded with high-end talent across the lineup.
But a new voice could help propel the Braves back into contention for the National League East championship.
