It was a frustrating night for everyone associated with Celtic on Wednesday evening. Hoops’ goalless draw left them with a challenge with Kairat Almaty to qualify for the Champions League.
Much of the frustration has been centered around Celtic’s transfer efforts this summer, with the club spending just under £4 million on seven new signatures.

Speaking after the game, Rogers said: “I think that was pretty clear. We didn’t have to look much into the future. These games are tough and we want to have the best players and tackle this kind of situation as quickly as possible.
“But ask what it is. I have to accept where it is. And now we’re ready for Saturday and then it’s a long distance on Sunday.
Rogers responds to Celtic fans’ looting The Board “Chanz” and builds transfer demand
When asked about fans’ reaction to the “Board the Board the Board” chant aimed at CEO Michael Nicholson and Chairman Peter Lowell, Rogers admitted the Celtic “necessary” signing before the deadline.
“I mean, “looting the board” for years usually means “looting the manager.” Usually it’s the manager you go to when you start singing. I can actually see the players here and the performance.
“We’ve known what we needed as a team for a long time, so I don’t want to get into it. Of course, at the end of the game, we have to shuffle what we’re trying to get it to work.
“The players are lacking in position, but the efforts they put in the second half were really good, but at this level it’s even better.
“The boys are a lot of young people and are really honest. They started the season well. Defensively, they’re getting stronger.
“We need to improve our team. We’ve made it clear for a long time. So we’ll see it. The supporters are seeing it. We certainly need to do it in football. This is a performance club. This is a performance club. It starts on the field.
There have been reports that Celtic has reached an agreement from Royal Antwerp to sign Michel Enji’s Balikwisha, but there are still internal issues to be resolved.
