Brian Battle was released on the UFC roster.
former The ultimate fighter The winner missed weight on his second straight at UFC 319 last weekend. Just a few days later, the battle was released from his contract.
UFC officials confirmed the news of the MMA Fighting on Wednesday.
Currently on a three-game winning streak, the battle missed the welterweight mark in December 2024 against Randy Brown, but still managed to win. A long layoff followed, and the next time he received a call from the UFC, the battle was offered a middleweight contest with Rusiboev.
The fight didn’t blink, and he eventually accepted the fight, but still hoped that the welterweight would become his future.
“Considering the situation, the last one didn’t gain weight. It was a bit tough to fight another,” Battle told the MMA battle before UFC 319.
“I want to go back to welterweight at some point. I’m a prize fighter just because I feel the story isn’t finished there. It’s the one I’m fighting to pay for them to fight me.”
Unfortunately, the battle missed the weight that rose to middleweight after achieving scale at 190 pounds. This is 4 pounds above the limit for non-title battles – and ultimately the match was discarded from the cards. Overall, the battle missed weight three times while driving in the UFC.
As a result, the UFC chose to release the fight from his contract. He left an organization with a 7-1 record and is not one contest overall.
