Anthony Edwards and Luka Doncic have taken it in the Titanic playoff series for the second year in a row.
In 2024, Luka Donsic beat the Dallas Mavericks to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference final.
Exchanged for the La Lakers, Doncic will have to go to the seventh game to defeat the Timberwolves again after Minnesota seized the 3-1 series lead.
Anthony Edwards scored 43 points in electric game 4, with the Timberwolves coming from behind and 116-113.
The series believes Luka Donsic and Anthony Edwards are heading towards their heads again, and he found his side in the series 3-1 while the Slovenians were putting up big numbers.
Responding to the game in the first take, Kendrick Perkins praised Anthony Edwards and also dug out Luka Donsic, referring to why the Mavericks traded him.
“Anthony Edwards is a better basketball player than Luka Donsic. You don’t have to question his condition.”
Perkins added that he saw Edwards in the highest ranks of the NBA.
“I’m looking at Anthony Edwards. I’m telling myself, ‘He’s the top five player in the game today.” When you start a franchise, yes, we know we have a joke.
However, this series is not yet complete. The Lakers have two of the remaining three games at home as they bid to come back from 3-1.
NBA insider Brian Windhorst responded to Edwards’ Perkins rating above Donsic that the current comparison was unfair.
He pointed out the current composition of this La Lakers team. This is so unbalanced that JJ Redick played the same five players throughout the second half.
Windhorst pointed out last year’s series with Dallas.
He states: “I don’t think it’s fair to rate Luka Donsic in terms of defense right now. Luka can’t defend the way this team is built. Luka needs a big guy, which is what he had in Dallas.
“When he beat Ant Edwards last year, he outperformed Ant Edwards in the playoffs last year. Ali didn’t have any gas in the playoffs last year.
“It was Luka who came in and snatched her heart in Minnesota. He had a more built roster at the time.”
