British and Ireland Lions: Garry Ringrose, Jamie George called from the first test

England hooker Jamie George received the SOS from the British and Ireland Lions ahead of his first Test against Australia as a cover for Luke Cowan Dicky next Saturday.

Cowan-Dickie won the Australian and New Zealand invitations 48-0 at Adelaide Oval on Saturday, leading to George’s call hours before he began towards the UK against San Juan’s Argentina, causing a blow to the head with a 48-0 victory.

England drafted for Theodan and faced Argentina with Curti Slangdon on the bench.

Irish midfielder Ring Rose, who won 36-24 at ACT Brumbies on Wednesday, was replaced by Lions team Huw Jones on Saturday.

“Gary had another concussion since last week and had prolonged signs of a concussion, so he had a headache, but unfortunately he failed,” coach Andy Farrell told Sky Sports. “That’s very sad for Garry, but he’ll be back for the rest of the series soon, so that’s how the game goes.”

Center Jamie Osborne was called to the team on weekdays as an additional training cover.

Cowan-Dickie was brought off the pitch, second-best in a tackle with Big Lock Lock Lukhan Salakaia-Loto before halftime at Adelaide Oval. Farrell said that the England Hooker was fine, but he also appeared to have been concussed.

“He gets up as soon as he gets off the stretcher and he’s back to his normal self,” Farrell said. “It’s a shame for him… So we’re looking at what has to happen on his back.”

Former England captain, Pharrell’s son Owen did not firmly harm Aunz XV the possibility of a three-game series choice against the Wallabies after coming off the bench early in the second half to replace Jones.

Farrell grabbed the three of his hands on three Lions’ five late attempts, attacking the Auntzline for his sharpest performance on the tour and the Lions’ sharpest performance and greatest improvement after a victory over Brunby.

They scored three tries in the opening 21 minutes and defended well to keep out opponents featuring 14 Test players.

“I thought it was a good professional performance,” Farrell said. “When you play these types of games, I think the type of personnel you’re against can happen all sorts of things.

“But we thought we played a lovely controlled game of rugby, but we didn’t actually allow them or be confident in the game.”
