Winger Mac Hansen of the UK & Ireland Lions is questioning Saturday’s first test against Australia after suffering a foot injury to the Australian and New Zealand Invitationals on Saturday.
Hansen did not participate in full training on Tuesday the day after Scottish winger Darcy Graham was brought to the New Zealand Lions squad.
“He hurt his leg in the game. It wouldn’t be serious, but he was managed today,” Lions assistant coach Richard Wigglesworth told British media in Brisbane.
“Hopefully he’ll be fully integrated very quickly. There’s nothing we’re overly concerned about, but we need to make sure we have enough numbers in our training.
“But it doesn’t look that serious. The doubts, anyone who didn’t train him completely today, is definitely not ruled out.”
Hansen adds to the Lions’ backline concerns after fullback Blair Kinghorn and center Garry Ringrose.
Fullback Elliot Daly left Australia after being removed from the series with a broken arm.
Hugo Keenan, who started off with a 48-0 Aunz slam in the Adelaide Oval, is expected to start with a fullback for the Lions, with Marcus Smith able to provide cover from the bench.
Fly half/center Owen Farrell is another midfield option for head coach and Father Andy Farrell.
Owen Farrell was solid in the 30-minute cameo at the center, and Wiglesworth said he enjoys working with the former England captain.
“He was great, as we knew it. Not everyone was, but we did,” Wigglesworth said.
“You all know how good he is, the impact he has, his knowledge and how he helps others get better.
“He’s the influential Owen that we know and love.”
