While many of the foreign-born members of the British and Irish Lions squad this summer have been made, the Australian announcer took place in his first tour game under Find The Funny Side.
An announcer at Optus Stadium in Perth picked out four members of the Lions’ side, but read out the team before the game.
“Our former Australia, No. 14, Mac Hansen,” Tanoy rang. “One Twiplots, Australia, is another No. 12.
“No. 11, that’s Kiwi’s now Irishman James Lowe… At Prop, it’s former SA Schoolboy, now Scotsman Pierre Schumann.”
The Lions may have had their final laugh.
Some of the origins of this year’s Lions team are sometimes the source of debate in the accumulation of games, with Schoeman saying that Squad’s overseas-born players have all the rights to leave the setup.
Eight players on Andy Farrell’s team, including Schoeman, were born outside England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. They are qualified through family or long-term residence.
