Because Bronnie James is primarily the son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.
Similarly, before the 2025 NFL Draft, Shedale Sanders attracted a huge amount of media attention, as his father is the Dallas Cowboys legendary Deon Sanders.
The two younger players are clearly talented in their own right, but are kept to a higher standard than they should be for their profile.
One former NBA player compared the two to brutal integrity and chose one distinct difference between them.
Bronnie James has already spent one season in his NBA career after the Lakers were beaten 4-1 by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the Western Conference.
James usually showed a flash of possibilities late in the blowout game, but received most of his playing time with the G-League team.

There is also the fact that his production in the G League was great afterwards. He scored 21.9 points per game in the Developmental League.
He also recorded 5.1 rebounds and 5.5 assists as he showed his all-round abilities, including solid boundary defense.
