Bronnie James showed great growth as a player in the 2025 NBA Summer League.
Bronnie James has grown into a solid NBA player, despite all possibilities. As the La Lakers rookie prepares for the next season, he shows how much he has improved.
Bronnie had development plans to enter the new NBA season to improve as a player. And so far, the NBA Summer League has seen how that plan has been integrated.
James’ first summer league outings impressed many fans. The young guard showed improvements not only as a scorer, but as a defender.
Bronnie’s great defense against Cooper Flag then showed how good he is as a stopper.
And after Bronnie put together another strong summer league stat, he finally gave some insight into how the game is making it easier for him.
Bronnie James spoke with a reporter from Las Vegas in the NBA Summer League. After dropping 17 points against the LA Clippers, James finally spoke about his progress.
Bronnie admitted that the game slowed a lot for him when he developed it. And his time in the G League has allowed him to become more comfortable, along with his summer league matches.
“Yeah, certainly (how the game slowed down helped him get better). That helps me that I was at the running point guard in the G League most of the time.
“Getting these reps in the summer leagues also helps. You get a comfortable game with each game.”
With Bronnie James’s improvement method, don’t be surprised if the young guard gets a few more minutes with the main team of the LA Lakers next season.
He never became a starter for Luka Donsic and Austin Reeves when he was healthy, but he was able to build up his features heavier in spins.
It’s very likely that manager JJ Reddick will put LeBron James and Bronnie James on the court at some point during the season.
Seeing the first father-son teammate pairing in NBA play is extended together for a long time will be a treat for fans.
And the way Bronney plays defense, he was able to help the Lakers become an even better defensive team next season.
