Bryson DeDanbaugh won both individual and team titles at Liv Golf Korea and finished the tournament with a 197 under 197 with a 48-foot birdie putt on the way to 66 on Sunday.

The individual victory was Deccanbo’s third on the Liv circuit, but the third of the season. He had to hold back his crusher GC teammate, Charles Howell III.

“Charles and I had a great fight there,” said Deccanbeau, who won the $4 million. “He never wavered today. It was fun and we had a great time today, but it was intense. It was super intense.”

Deccanbo hadn’t had much luck recently in the Sunday round. He has taken a 36-hole lead in the last two LIV golf events. First in Miami, then Mexico City – on the Masters leaderboard with 16 holes remaining, but was unable to capture the trophy.

Howell played his first nine on Sunday at 4 under, reducing Deccanbo’s lead to one stroke on the turn.

However, after uniformly disrupting the Front Nine, Deccanbo closed with six birdies. It was what he needed to stop accusations from Howell, who made birdies with five consecutive holes from Nos 11 to 15.

Howell bogeyed a par 5 No. 16 and finished with a birdie on the final hole, but Deccanbeau’s 48-foot birdie putt was No. 17, followed by birdie on the final hole.

“I feel like I’m playing great golf, but I’ve never gotten a job,” Deccanbeau said. “It was a lot of tension. I’m happy to step up to the plate and get it done.”

Howell made his first appearance on the podium since winning Liv Gold Mayakoba in 2023.

“I knew today was going to be a tough day to catch Bryson and try to take him down, but I did my best,” Howell said. “I would have thought that 9 under would have done it, and obviously not. … Whenever I filmed a 9 under par in the last group and I still can’t win, it’s a tough day.”

Crusher was also supported by Paul Casey (67 on Sunday) and Annealvan Rahiri. He recovered from a disastrous 79 on Saturday and shot a 72.

“Charles and Bryson won this for us,” Casey said. “Our job was not to ruin it if I was honest.”

Back on the individual side, Talor Gooch shot a 6-under 66, finishing third place, beating below 14.

Thomas Peters (68) and Patrick Reed (65) tied nine strokes in the fourth from the pace.

Matthew Wolf was alone in sixth place after round 67, sitting on a 10-stroke behind Dedanbo.

Dechambeau will be participating in what is likely to become 13 Liv Golf players at the PGA Championship held at the Quazlo Hollow Club from May 15-18. DeChambeau was compliant with Xander Schauffele at the PGA Championship last year.

Associated Press and field-level media contributed to this report.
