After Nassourdine Imavov, Caio Borralho’s next stop is the shot of the top award in the middleweight division.
Riding a 7-0 record inside the Octagon, the Fighting Geek fan favorite will face his toughest test when he met Imavov at UFC Paris on September 6th.
With Imavov sitting as a top-ranked contender in the division, Borralho believes that if he wins “The Sniper,” he will have the chance to face the winner of next month’s 185 pound title Clash, the winner of champion Dricus Du Plessis and undefeated Chechen monster Khamzat Chimaev.
“I’m 100% sure. Everyone knows it’s a number one competitor fight! That’s why I’ve been hoping for this fight for a long time,” Boraljo told MMA Junkie. “After this fight, that won’t be denied. For anyone, the fans, the UFC, the fighters, themselves, the team, I’m the next competitor!”
Caio Borralho is set to win his first UFC title along with teammate Jean Silva
A week after Boralho met Imavov in the City of Light, his combat nerd teammate Jansilva faces Diego Lopez in Noshe UFC, who is becoming a featherweight title eliminator.
If both fighters appeared on top in their respective battles, Boraljo believes they present the UFC with a unique opportunity to make them both compete for world titles on the same night.
“To be honest with you, I think me and Jansilva have the belt on the same day,” Boraljo said. “That’s what we’re planning on. We have the main event on September 6th. He has the No. 1 competitor battle, the main event a week later, September 13th.
