Canelo Alvarez is once again ready for the indisputable champion.
On Friday’s Canelo vs Skull weighing on Saturday at a venue in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Canelo officially weighed at 167.1 pounds, while Skull came in at 166.1 pounds. The indisputable Super Middleweight Champion status comes as Canelo places WBA, WBC and WBO belts on the line against Scull’s IBF title.
“I really don’t care about height and size. When you’re a good fighter, that doesn’t matter,” Alvarez said of the tall skull.
Canelo (62-2-2) first lost the IBF title when he chose to compete against Edgar Berlanga this September, rather than Scull (23-0), the IBF’s mandatory challenger. Instead, the undefeated Skull continued to defeat Vladimir Shishkin for the free belt.
Competitors in the co-main event, Bruno Soulas and Jaime Manguia, also weighed in on the rematch. Surace (26-0-2) is about to go 2-0 against Munguia (44-2) after getting a stunning upset knockout at the first meeting in December.
