Carlos Alcaraz is on the verge of a milestone in his Wimbledon career.

On Friday, the 22-year-old Alcaraz approached a rare feat by beating Taylor Fritz in the semi-finals 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 (6).

No. 2 seed Alkaraz defeated 24-time major champion Novak Djokovic in straight sets 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 to advance to Sunday’s final.

Alcaraz’s victory over Fritz extended his winning streak to 24.

“I’m not thinking about winning streaks. I’m not thinking about the outcome at all. I’m thinking about my dreams,” Alcaraz said. “Now, I honestly don’t want to think about Sunday. I just want to enjoy this moment.

If Alkaraz defeats the sinner, he joins the other seven others who have won three consecutive Wimbledon titles. Check out Wimbledon 3 Pete Club in its open era. A special mention to Billy Jean King, who came before the time when the first two titles of Wimbledon’s three-peat were opened.

Novak Djokovic

Title Streak: 2018-2022

Djokovic won four consecutive Wimbledon titles. His first occurrence occurred in 2018 when he cleaned Kevin Anderson 6-2, 6-2, 7-6(3) in his fourth career title. Prior to that, he had not won a Grand Slam title since the 2016 French Open.

In 2019, Djokovic faced Roger Federer in the final. The match became the tiebreaker in the fifth set. This will be the first time in the men’s finals in four grand slams. Djokovic was held 7-6 (5), 1-6, 7-6 (4), 4-6, 13-12 (3). There was no competition in 2020 due to Covid-19, but he held his position in 2021, beating Matteo Berettini 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 in his third Wimbledon title.

Roger Federer

Title Streak: 2003-2007

Federer won five Wimbledon titles in a row before Rafael Nadal won in 2008. He reached the final, where he faced Mark Phillipsis and defeated him 7-6 (5), 6-2, 7-6 (3). In 2004, Federer faced Andy Roddick. Andy Roddick was expected to be one of the title’s toughest obstacles. After losing the first set to Roddick, Federer won 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (3), 6-4.

But that wasn’t the end. Federer faced Roddick again in the 2005 Wimbledon Finals, with Federer defeating him in straight sets 6-2, 7-6 (2), 6-4.

Pete Sampra

Sampler won the US Open in 1996, but he lost to Richard Krajsek in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon, 7-5, 7-6, 6-4 in the three sets.

The following year, Graf defeated Monica Seles 6-2, 6-1 in 1993 before completing three peats with Jana Novotná 7-6, 1-6, and 6-4.

BjörnBorg

He was the fourth person to achieve the feat since the challenge round was abolished in 1922. In the final, Borg defeated Illy Naster 6-4, 6-2, 9-7. In 1977, Borg defeated Jimmy Connors 3-6, 6-2, 6-1, 5-7, 6-4. In the rematch the following year, Borg reappeared, beating the Connors 6-2, 6-2, 6-3 with three peats.
